Practising a flexi-job is an advantageous way to earn extra income in Belgium. In recent years, the system has expanded a lot, making it possible to work as a flexi-jobber in several sectors. However, there are a number of conditions attached to working through this statute in Belgium. We list them for you below.
Flexi-job employment is possible if you were already employed by another Belgian employer at least 4/5 in the third quarter preceding the current one. So suppose you want to exercise a flexi-job in quarter 4 of 2024, you must have been employed at least 80% in January, February and March 2024. This employment may be combined at several employers.
The government has also set some conditions you need to meet in order to exercise a flexi job:

As a pensioner, you may also pursue a flexi job. If you are over 65, you may start working immediately. This also applies to those younger than 65 who worked at least 4/5ths before retirement.
If you have worked less than 4/5th, you must be registered as a pensioner for at least 2 quarters before you can start a flexi job.
